1. 2009 - Premature birth of Eden & Pryscilla Collier at 32 weeks. Their NICU stay was the inspiration behind Preemie Prints.
  2. 2011 - In January 2011 we started out with a handful of photography volunteers and started hosting monthly support group meetings. We also started working with a fiscal sponsor to establish our outreach.
  3. 2013 -We became an official 501(c)(3) and have been blessed by amazing growth.
  4. 2014 We've grown to over 100 volunteers, gifted over 400 photography sessions, and donated over 1,000 handmade items. Our inspiring blog is receiving over 10,000 page views a month and we're excited to be holding our 2nd annual LM5K for a Cause! We're helping new photography volunteers and sewing volunteers get started in their areas. Some even starting their own local chapters. We've been featured on Today Moms and other local news outlets.

"Thank you! The grad session was more than I could of imagined, our volunteer was nice, caring and she does amazing work! These pictures mean so much to us, the things people take for granted like holding you baby after they are born, or even a picture! ~ Naomi

This was truly an awesome experience. It helped bring us a little more closure to our hectic last few months. Thank you for offering something so amazing to help people heal. ~Jen

Thank you to Megan, Sherri and all the Preemie Prints volunteers who give parents like me photos of beauty during a difficult, trying time. Thank you so much. ~Dawn

What Are NICU Parents Saying?

Parents are rarely prepared for the challenges of the NICU environment, such as the fragile condition of the infant, the high level of technology, and frequent crises (Brown, Pearl & Carassco, 1991). The parents' reactions to the birth of a premature baby or sick newborn have been compared to the stages people progress through in reacting to a traumatic grief-producing event: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, acceptance and adaptation (Harrison, 1983). Over the years these reactions have stayed the same, but family centered care has become more important to the health of the baby. So support at the parent level is necessary. Preemie Prints is an organization supporting NICU parents, encouraging, and sharing hope with families in Texas and across the nation through a variety of programs.

mission & vision

Any amount of time spent in a NICU is too long. We will devote the time and energy necessary to support NICU families and share hope with them during this difficult time. We have a mission to support families who have babies born prematurely or critically ill.
